National engagement platform for communities across Wales
In October 2015, www.ItsyourWales.net went live.
The platform exists to engage, inspire and empower people who live and work in Wales and those businesses and organisations providing services across Wales.
The platform is unique and provides a productive working environment. We call this Community Workspace. Community Workspace is for people and organisations that are passionate about success for Wales, success for communities across Wales, and success for people who live and work in Wales.
We give those people and those organisations the space to work on their passions, their projects, and their shared interests so that together they can realise their goals and make a real difference for Wales.
It’syourWales hosts and runs activities and actively encourages people to use the platform to share their passions, interests and concerns across many different topics: healthcare; support for the vulnerable; opportunities for young people, reducing poverty; culture and the arts; sports and leisure; business and enterprise; to name just a few.
Several shared passions are currently being taken forward by It’syourWales through a number of live activities. These topics include:
- Welsh and proud. Are we making the most of this?
- Community pride. What makes a local community proud?
- Participation in Sport. What can we learn from what we know?
- Volunteering. How can we encourage more people to volunteer?
- Engaging young people. What works? What doesn’t?
The collaborative features of the workspace environment allows different organisations to share and build their evidence together, thereby reducing costs and maximising efficiencies.
It’syourWales goes much further than involving people and asking them questions about the services and facilities available to them.
We give people within their communities the tools by which to connect with others that share their passions and interests.
We also give people and their communities the opportunity to take forward their joint ideas.
We can even give people their own Community Workspace so they can develop their plans and submit their proposals for taking forward their own initiatives, ventures and enterprises.
Most of all, we give people the power to make a difference by building their own Communities of Influence.
Our ultimate goal is this! To help build the nation’s community assets by supporting those people who really are passionate about making a difference for themselves, for those around them, for their community and for Wales.
All we ask of people is a small amount of their time.
For every activity they take part in, we will reward people and their community with Community Points. The more Points they collect, the greater their influence. In this way, we give people the recognition they deserve.
Together with our partners, we will demonstrate through constant feedback just how valuable their time and involvement is and just how, together with others, they really can make a difference and have a major influence over their future, the future of their communities, and the future of Wales.
Everyone will be given their own unique Community Passport so that they can access all the activities that match their personal interests and passions. They can log-in on their mobiles, tablets or laptops and see how their own and others contributions are adding up, be proud of the part they are playing, and keep up with regular news and incentives offered by our Community partners.
Community Points for active engagement recognises the contributions people and their communities make and members will receive regular alerts and updates to show them just how their contributions are making a difference.
We offer a range of opportunities for organisations to get involved in this unique venture.
Partners can be from the public, private or voluntary sector. They could operate closely within a small community or their involvement and interests could be across the entire country.
Major alliance opportunities are available to form close partnerships with It’syourWales and we can explore all the opportunities made available through our engagement platform.
Full partners will be provided with unlimited access to the platform’s unique Community Workspace containing an entire suite of engagement and collaboration tools. Full partners can engage and empower their own communities, grow their very own Communities of Influence, run all their engagements in Community Workspace and connect with communities whenever they wish.
Partners looking to engage with communities less frequently can utilise the Community Workspace on a project by project basis and license space for just the duration of that particular engagement.
For a tour of the platform and further details on all partnership arrangements, contact Jonathan at jonathan.bostock@peoplemattersnetwork.com or call 07432 637322.
